Lost in the Hivemind

Post by Plushie on Mon Apr 04, 2016 12:44 am

Where is me?
The last thing she remembered, she was stuck in a Core shard with the other her. They weren't the same though. She wanted to grab at her head. It was so loud now. The voices, the images were so bright. They had been present ever since she allowed Viscra a channel into her mind, but now it was so much. Everywhere around her, they were conversations of intelligent beings who had a connection to this place or screams of mindless monsters that rose from their former dead flesh as they sought or attacked their prey. She could see through all their eyes. Friendly faces, faces frozen in horror, people with bared teeth as they fought her off. She wasn't attacking them.

We should nots be here... Me has to be dead! Is us in another Hell?
Surely, this was a Hell half as horrid as the last, but at the same time it was twice as worse. She couldn't move. She was dragged from one mind to the next in a continuous current. She wanted nothing more to rip out whatever eyes were seeing these blinding images, spanning before so fast and she couldn't even blink. Dig out her ears and stop all the noise, but she found she possessed no body to do her bidding. If she could scream... Oh, she could. And her mind, all that she was now, was the loudest and most quiet at the same time in this endless plane.

She could feel the pain of all those connected to the hivemind, and other things. She didn't understand anything but the pain though. Dying over and over when something died. Not a simple releasing death like before her imprisonment in the Core shard. Dismembered, burned alive. She couldn't remember she had actually felt pain, but hints of it started coming to her after meeting that woman.

Vis was sitting in what could best be called her throne room inside one of the brethren moons. She had been sitting there contemplating and planning out her assault on a few of the planets that were nearby. She had to spread her empire her hive. It did not take long before she felt...no heard a voice that was not there before. Odd She know this wondering mind. it seemed familiar. but has been a long time since she spoke to that girl Echo. How was she moving around the hivemind? last she heard she was dead. This was an intereting development. She could use this..Yes someone able to move from mind to mind could come in handy down the line.

Re: Lost in the Hivemind

A mental hand, something she had practiced with the other her, to reach out and hold something solid and stable. Remember what it was like. The first several attempts were unsuccessful. It was like trying to grab a slippery crag. She thought she had a grip and then a mental shudder would result in her losing her hold and send her down the current once again.

She braced her lack of being and forced another mental hand to form. Something that could worm its way to grip onto a mind. It would have been more successful if she didn't have another continuous run of minds that were on the brink of death as reanimated necromorphs crossed paths with opponents who were more rehearsed in fending off the hostile dead. The pain was racking and she postponed grabbing onto another mind to recover from the newly opened wound... memory of suffering death.

This discomfort was both incapacitating and infuriating. The pathetic whimpering started turning to laughter. She formed more mental claws and wormed her grip onto several minds. Some on more "evolved" minds with signs of intelligence, and others with the simple drive to spread the virus. Should one of the grips lose hold, the hand would quickly latch onto another mind and worm its way in.

Now as she held herself suspended in the current of the hivemind, she giggled. Cringing in pain, but now able to drown out the majority of the input received into her head by focusing on the minds she fed into. Twitch, twitch, twitch. We gots it maybe? So much going on... Pain... Her focus drifted as she distantly felt something... someone, familiar.

Ah yes she knew his mind. How it had survived she was unclear about but that would be a matter for another time. "There you are." came her voice as a mental image of her would appear near the being.

"So You are still lingering in the hive mind even though your body was destroyed. Tell me why I should not cast you out and finish the job?" Was she upset? oh yes. "I brought you into the hive mind to keep you alive and make use of your power and you repay me by killing yourself anyway."

The lingering mind turned focus on Viscra's image. A small giggles before a mental claw had to latch onto another mind due to another necromorph losing to its opponent. Then she was surrounded by a solemness. We dids not do it... The other one did! We tries to stop her and then everythings was gone with nothing to grab holds and controls. Why was she explaining? She didn't fear death or the notion of no longer existing, did she? By her perception, everything started to slow and come to a stand still. Viscra might see a ghostly resemblance to the Echo she had met, simply staring at one of the minds she had a hold on.

She slowly returned her focus to Viscra as everything resumed to the usual. We tries to stop her... Everything was slippery...smooths. That body was weaks and the other one is gones. She's no here at least. She no gets in the ways of us now! If she had a physical form, she might have had the largest smile. We cans do as we like nows, without the other to stop us.

Vis looked at the image and tilted her head. "Well I can not have you wondering around my hive mind to mind. the Pure ones may get upset at someone being in their heads.." She paused a moment before leaning back in her throne.

"I could make you your own body it may take some time but it would get you out of the network flow.."

She stared at Viscra for somewhat of an awkward amount of time before a smile beamed across her image's face. The strong network was still overbearing and Vis's offer sounded like the first sign of heaven she could imagine. Spurts of giggles came from her before it ruptured into odd laughter. A mix of her usual hysterical tone, and something that could be deciphered as relief.

Kind... She is so kind. To us? And we has ruin ev'ythin thus far. Then we owes her more.

A mental claw slipped its hold on a mind then reached for Vis. As gentle of a gesture that could managed considering how she spawned into existence. The mental claw in generally featureable note could be classified as menacing, but Vis would probably not seem the least bit deterred being who and what she was. Her entire presence shook as she eagerly waited for Vis to take her next action.

Re: Lost in the Hivemind

She pondered and lost herself to thought again. Remembering everything Echo had gone through made her want to cringe and rip herself to pieces so she wouldn't feel the memories anymore. But because everything she... they, had gone through they were able to do so much. No worry of growing old, or dying because of fatal injuries inflicted on the body. She didn't have to worry about that anymore anyway, she assumes that now she would simply come back to the network of minds or straight back to Viscra.

One thing she missed that Echo had stopped doing was being able to change any part of the body at will. Either completely or just adding and taking away appendages. Viscra should have access to the memories as well, even know what she was thinking if the link had been established correctly.

We... She brought her focus on Viscra again. Is there any ways we can has a body likes before?

To be able to defy physics... do anything! She was sure that Vis would be able to figure it out.

We wouldn'ts mind if has to have a scrap body untils then.

Until Vis managed, or even had her help, anything was good.
