Zombie Apocalypse: The Beginning

Post by Cheshi on Mon Oct 31, 2016 10:21 pm

In 2016, a pandemic decimated the globe. Fort Worth, Texas was ground zero. A bio-engineered airborne virus was accidentally released from an experimental facility. Within days, the city had to be quarantined. Within weeks, the United States had to close borders. Within a month, the entire world went dark...

Those who caught the virus died. The problem was, they didn't stay dead. Instead, as if in a horror film, they rose up from their deathbeds to attack the nearest being in site. And the victims, too, would rise.

It has been three months since then, and humans have struggled to survive that hordes of dead that now roam where the living once tread. Some survivors band together. Others prefer to strike out on their own. On either path, the hunter can easily become the hunted. It is up to you to decide: are you a predator, or are you prey?

Tessa Hawkes

Post by Cheshi on Tue Nov 01, 2016 1:30 am

Location: Tessa's Home◊
Thoughts: Jax!◊
Actions: Just moving about the house.◊
Company: There's no one but Jax.◊

Two months. That when she had seen the last one, torn apart right in front of the window she peered through. Before that, it had been mere days. This time, though, it had been two months. Outside, screams turned to sobs and sobs to whimpers, only to fade to nothing as the owner lost consciousness and died. Grunts and growls replaced them, as the monster that had taken the life continued to feast. Just another day in paradise.

Tessa moved away from the window, then, walking on the balls of her feet. To the side, a half-finished painting on a canvas lay on the floor forgotten, as her thoughts swirled around the creature outside - or rather, its victim.

Two months. It had been long enough since she had seen another human being that she had started to think that she was the only one left in this part of the city, unless she were to count the undead. None living had been noticed in time to help or save them.

The young woman glanced at the window again before slipping down the stairs that led down to the main floor of the house. I'm going to have to make a supply run soon... The carpeted steps were silent as she took them as fast as she dared. A socked foot slid off the edge, but she used the motion to put the next foot forward and carry her on down.

Tessa paused in the kitchen, hovering over the tile floor. Her ears strained in the silence, searching for any hint that something had gotten in while she had been preoccupied upstairs. Her heartbeat loudly in the quiet, threatening to block all else out. Come on, come on... Several minutes passed with nothing.

She slowly exhaled. Then a blur of brown and black came bounding around the corner. Tessa hopped back instinctively as the blur leapt. It missed her by a hair. "Jax!" She exclaimed in a hushed voice. The german shepard grinned.
